PICASSA
A work by Lorena Nogal—2024 National Dance Prize winner—for the Picasso Museum in Barcelona.
At Marlota, we created the costumes for PICASSa, a choreographic piece inspired by Picasso's visual ruptures.
We explore disaffection, fragmentation, and the search for new forms of expression, closely related to Cubism and its echo in the Bauhaus.
Three scenes. Three views. Three skins.
Designs that accompany the body in its transformation: from the constructivist geometry of Oscar Schlemmer, through the deconstruction of the figure, to a heartbreaking finale where life and death are dressed in black.
A tribute to abstraction, the body, and art as a timeless language.
